Memorial Program
The State Memorial Program exists to honor the memory of State employees who have lost their lives in the line of service for North Carolina. When an employee loses his or her life in the line of duty, the program provides an immediate acknowledgment of the value and service of that individual with a personal letter to the family from the Governor of North Carolina, a North Carolina flag, a cherry flag case, a certificate verifying when the flag was flown over the Capitol and a letter from the Human Resources Director accompany the Governor’s letter. In addition, there will be an annual memorial ceremony to honor all employees who lost their lives in the line of service throughout the year.
Further information about this program can be found on the Office of State Human Resources website or by emailing staff-recognition@charlotte.edu.
